Soft Chocolate Sugar Cookies

Soft Chocolate Sugar Cookies...why let vanilla have all the fun?
This is a spin on my super popular Soft Amish Sugar Cookies...they're soft with a slightly melty texture and the perfect amount of cocoa-chocolate flavor to still be considered a sugar cookie!

Prep time :
0:10
Bake/Cook time :
0:09 to 0:11
Yield :
24 large cookies

INGREDIENTS

*Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
  3. Cream together butter, oil and both sugars on medium speed until smooth. Beat in eggs and vanilla, scraping sides of bowl as necessary.
  4. Mix in baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.
  5. Turn mixer to low and add in cocoa powder until combined evenly. Finally add in flour, mixing until combined.
  6. Using a large (3 tablespoon) cookie scoop drop dough onto lined baking sheet. Add sprinkles now if desired. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are set. Do not over bake.
  7. Allow to cool for 3 minutes on baking sheet and transfer to wire rack to finish cooling.
