                    That there are basically 2 types of models - "those who shine on the catwalk and those who love the camera."

A good catwalk is a girl who not only has the height and a good figure but is one who knows how to project herself through her walk and posture. She must not be a clone. Modelling agency can teach her the basics of how to walk properly but after that it is up to her build her personal style.
Her walk must express her own personality, her own style and sensuality. Only then will she be memorable.

Meanwhile, for a photographic model, or one who handles mostly camera shoots, has to love the camera and have a feel for it. She has to know her best angles and make use of that knowledge to project what the photographer or the client wants from her.
Of course, if a girl has qualities that make her suitable for both the catwalk and the camera, she is more marketable as she can be more versatile.

A lot of factors go into the making of a successful model. 
A model's success depends a lot on how she maintains herself. She has to keep up with the latest trends in the fashion industry. She also has to be responsible for herself, turn up on time and be turned into the business. She has to be fast, flexible and capable of dealing with any situation.

The point is one should not treat a model's job lightly. These days it takes more than physical attributes to make the grade as a model. Think about that the next time a model is dismissed a nothing but a face and figure.
