Homemade Cucumber Sugar Facial Scrub

Getting a facial is a relaxing way to give your skin a treat, but the indulgence can cost a fortune at some fancy salons. Thankfully, you don’t need to break the bank to show your face some love. Instead, save a few bucks by making your own cucumber and sugar facial scrub. You’ll also avoid artificial ingredients by using all-natural food products in your blend. The cucumber soothes and cools your face, while the sugar gently exfoliates your skin, giving it a healthy glow. Here’s how to do it.

THE RECIPE:

1/2 cucumber

3-4 cups sugar (this depends how much an exfoliant you want, if you need a really good and intense exfoliant, use more, but don’t use an intense exfoliant everyday as it will do more damage than good! and if your cucumber is bigger than normal you may need to use more – you want it very mild if you will be using it every day though)

1/2 tbsp. olive oil

1 small handful of chopped up mint leaves

Cucumber Mint Sugar Scrub

DIRECTIONS:

1. Puree the cucumber until it is a liquid.

2. Add the sugar, (more or less than directed depending on how you like it) oil, and mint leaves. *If the sugar is dissolving, add more.

3. Stir together and put in a jar or container.

*keep refrigerated to keep it nice and fresh. Also the cold wakes me up in the mornings and brightens my face a little which I love.

(Pictures below)  Those are my homemade cucumber sugar facial scrub. Usually I don't add the sugar & olive oil first.
When I need it, I will take out some cucumber liquid out mixed with sugar and olive oil.

And, this cucumber sugar facial Scrub can  help your skin keep in hydrating during fall / winter season.
